Karlsruhe /

* Fraunhofer IOSB releases version 1.0 of the FA³ST service, an implementation for digital twins according to the Asset Administration Shell specification.

* FA³ST (Fraunhofer Advanced Asset Administration Shell Tools) allows you to create digital twins for Industrie 4.0 applications in a matter of seconds.

* FA³ST service is free of charge, open source and, thanks to its open architecture, easily expandable and configurable.

We are pleased to announce the release of FA³ST Service v1.0! This release primarily includes the update to v3.0 of the Administration Shell specification including metamodel and API. It also includes some new features such as support for supplementary files (e. g. files provided as part of AASX files), internal changes such as the switch to the Eclipse AAS4J library for the metamodel and basic de-/serialization as well as bug fixes and usability improvements.

FA³ST Service is a free and open source software that allows you to create digital twins in seconds. It is an implementation of the Asset Administration Shell specification created and maintained by the International Digital Twin Association (IDTA).

The most important features are:

  • FA³ST service is free and open source (Apache 2.0 license).
  • Its open architecture makes it easy to expand and configure.
  • Asset synchronization: FA³ST Service can be connected to existing software systems without having to write or compile code.
  • FA³ST Service can be used via command line, docker container or as an embedded library.

Further information can be found on the FA³ST project page (www.iosb.fraunhofer.de/faaast) and on the FA³ST Service Github page (https://github.com/FraunhoferIOSB/FAAAST-Service).
