10 years of Fraunhofer IOSB - A young institute with a long history

Since its foundation in 2010, the Fraunhofer IOSB undertakes applied research that drives economic development and serves the wider benefit of society. Despite being a young institute, we can nonetheless look back on a long and successful history. This is because Fraunhofer IOSB is the product of a merger between two previously existing institutes: Fraunhofer IITB and FGAN-FOM.

As the largest European research institution in the field of image acquisition, processing and analysis, Fraunhofer IOSB today plays a central role in the innovation process in Germany and Europe.

Learn more about the history of Fraunhofer IOSB, our most important ideas and success stories of the last ten years and read the interview of Fraunhofer IOSB's founders, Prof. Beyerer and Prof. Tacke, who reflect the situation around the year 2010 in this anniversary section!
