Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Jürgen Beyerer

Director of the Fraunhofer IOSB

Prof. Beyerer is the managing director of Fraunhofer IOSB, director of the Karlsruhe site and holder of the chair Vision and Fusion Laboratory (IES) at the department of informatics of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).

Close connection with KIT's Vision and Fusion Lab

Fraunhofer IOSB and the Vision and Fusion Laboratory closely collaborate in scientific research. Thus, synergy effects, which lie in the basic research-oriented approach of the chair and the application-oriented approach of Fraunhofer IOSB, can be optimally developed.

In addition, a close cooperation promotes the recruitment of first-class young scientists for Fraunhofer IOSB.

The focus of research and teaching at the Vision and Fusion Laboratory is on these topics:

  • Automatic visual inspection and image exploitation
  • Pattern recognition
  • Signal and information processing.
