Transfer-X: Research results for medium-sized companies

The Transfer-X Concept

Challenge

The economic stimulus package 35c (also referred to as KoPa35c) is a comprehensive support program of the German government that is specifically targeted at the German automotive manufacturing and supply industry. A central aspect of the program is the funding of research projects on various topics related to digitalization, Industry 4.0, automation and networks. These include, for example, projects on the collaborative use of data along the value chain or on the virtual control of adaptive production systems.

Transfer-X is a platform that bundles the results of these research projects and makes them accessible to a wider public. Medium-sized companies will particularly benefit from this knowledge transfer, as it gives them access to the latest developments and technologies.

Goals

To facilitate access to the research results, a knowledge platform in the form of a transformation hub is being created in Transfer-X. The goal is to make the results of the research projects of the KoPa35c program freely available for companies in a comprehensive way.

Hereby, various media and transfer formats are used to convey the knowledge gained from the projects. To increase practical relevance, transfer paths are created that are tailored to specific topics, industries and company roles and represent practice-oriented user journeys. Each transfer path consists of different transfer modules that can be combined to communicate research findings in an easy-to-understand way.

Approach and results (as of April 2023)

Discussions were initiated with parties responsible for the KoPa35c projects to identify potential transfer content that could be converted into initial transfer modules. We are also in close contact with SMEs and multipliers such as SME digital centers, digital hubs and chambers of industry and commerce. Through this dialogue, we identify the need for knowledge building blocks in order to focus and consistently prioritize the development of transfer modules.
