EffMon - Efficient monitoring and optimised operational management of properties

Guide cover
The guide “Efficient monitoring of energy data in the field of facility management” can be downloaded below in the “Publications / Downloads” section.

Short description of the project

When operating heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems in existing commercial buildings, it is often found that both heating and cooling provision and the individual room controls are parameterized very conservatively and the rooms are not heated or cooled as required. Permanent monitoring and optimization by qualified personnel is usually not profitable. Consistent and cost-effective solutions for existing buildings are not available in the desired form. In the project, therefore, an integrated value chain for the efficient monitoring and optimized operation of properties from the building stock is to be realized with low-investment measures. Perspectively, a supervision key of about 1:50 is aimed at. i.e. one energy manager supervises 50 objects.

Project goals

Our aspiration:

  • Monitoring easily and efficiently
  • From the measuring point concept to automated evaluations and support
  • Data acquisition in high temporal resolution

Our target groups:

  • Property operators
  • Energy managers
  • Consultants
  • Architects and planners

Our demonstrator properties:

We demonstrate efficient monitoring at properties of different sizes - at two major hospitals, at a large as well as a smaller industrial company

Your advantages and benefits

  • Reduction of energy consumption by 10- 20%
  • Automated analysis and documentation of energy and operational data
  • Controlling of energy targets e.g. according to ISO 50001, EMAS
  • Access to energy experts
  • Efficient monitoring and optimization of energy operations management (energy management as a service)

Project partners

  • Fraunhofer Institute of Optronics, System Technologies and Image Exploitation IOSB (coordination)
  • Steinhaus Informationssysteme GmbH
  • GMC-I Messtechnik GmbH
  • Klaus Weiss Elektroanlagen GmbH
  • Effizienzbörse Deutschland
