ECHOES – European Cloud for Heritage Open Science

A shared digital platform for Europe's cultural heritage

The ECHOES project (European Cloud for Heritage OpEn Science) aims to create a shared digital platform that provides professionals and researchers in the field of cultural heritage with access to data, scientific resources, training, and advanced digital tools.

This platform, known as the European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage (ECCCH), promotes the digitalization of existing knowledge and collaboration among all stakeholders in the analysis of cultural heritage objects and phenomena. It enables users to interact with, manipulate, and expand digital twins of cultural heritage objects, thereby generating new, collaboratively developed scientific knowledge.

Objective

The project is based on the principles of open science to democratize access to knowledge and digital resources for everyone. The successful completion of ECHOES would enable the integration of results from EU and national projects in the field of cultural heritage into a unified platform, foster collaboration among various stakeholders, and support the creation of a new generation of semantically rich, collectively produced cultural heritage objects.

Our contribution
