"Self-organizing production"

The Innovation Alliance invites you to the next free online seminar - this time on the topic of Industry 4.0.
Almost like in an ant colony: The concept of "self-organizing production" dispenses with central production planning. Instead, decentralized approaches and the permanent localization and online tracking of workpieces and operating resources allow for maximum flexibility and fast response times in production.

Although the idea was already discussed in the 2000s, its implementation failed for a long time due to adequate computing power and lack of trust. But this is currently changing and the first visible applications are, for example, driverless transport systems that transport workpieces to the next available assembly workstation.

This gives rise to many questions, which we will try to answer during the webinar.
