Gustavo Mancuso Bolson holds a Master’s degree in Control and Systems Engineering from RWTH Aachen, Germany, completed in conjunction with an engineering degree in Electrical and Telecommunications Engineering at the University of São Paulo, Brazil. His background spans astronomical instrumentation, science communication, orbital and suborbital flight testing and satellite navigation systems modelling. Prior to joining the Adaptive Optics group at Fraunhofer IOSB in 2026 as a research associate, he worked at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) where he completed his master's thesis and developed modular software-defined optical setups for next-generation FSOC and AO technology testing and validation. His current research interests include laser systems and lens design, optical metrology, and real-time control.
