In addition to automated inspection processes, AutoInspect also integrates AR-supported manual inspection by a worker. Defects are detected and registered by finger pointing.

Digitization and sustainability - these are the key topics of the world's most important industrial trade fair, setting clear impulses for the transformation of business and industry - towards digitized, climate-neutral and sustainable value creation.

AutoInspect –digital 3D twin for systematic sensor deployment planning and sensor data fusion

The exhibit, in which the Visual Inspection Systems department is involved, exemplifies an infrastructure solution that combines various inspection methods such as ellipsometry or deflectometry and merges the recorded features with metadata with pinpoint accuracy on a 3D model of the test specimen - in this case a car body. On this basis, a wide range of evaluations are possible, from simple statistics to AI/ML methods. The principle is explained in detail at the trade fair booth - a live link to the Karlsruhe research factory shows the current status of our solution.

This exhibit can be found at the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft joint booth. Visit us: hall 5, booth A061.

The inspection of surfaces is a classic field of industrial image processing and has been proven in many applications for many years.

Image Processing for Surfaces - Advances in technology not only enable ever higher inspection speeds and more compact systems, but also, in addition to the evaluation of two-dimensionally recorded textures, the complete recording of complex 3D surface structures down to the nanometer range. Furthermore, the rapid evaluation of colored, patterned, transparent, highly reflective or mirroring surfaces is possible. In the seminar, different inspection and analysis methods will be presented for this purpose.
