ICADAC - Improved camera-based mapping under adverse conditions

 

The goal of the automotive project ICADAC (Improved Camera based Detection under Adverse Conditions) is to develop methods and algorithms for the detection and characterization of fog and rain in images of an automotive onboard camera.
The output is intended to allow an adaptive control of the brightness of the vehicle’s taillight.  Furthermore, other driver assistance systems can profit from an estimation of the current weather conditions as they can operate in an appropriate mode with adapted parameters.
