Guidelines for data protection in scientific research on aspects of human-technology interaction

In the GUIDE project, the partners FH Bielefeld and Fraunhofer IOSB develop GUIDELines for typical data protection tasks that arise in research and development projects in the domain human-machine interaction. The GUIDELines structure data protection requirements defined by the Gerneral Data Protection Regulation of the European Union (EU-GDPR) and show, for example, how they can be fulfilled through technology design and data protection-friendly default settings (Privacy by Design, Privacy by Default).

The FH Bielefeld focuses on the legal dimension of human-machine interactions. This is supplemented by Fraunhofer IOSB's work on technical data protection measures for the protection of data subjects. The GUIDELines thus combine the legal and technical perspectives of the two research partners and extend them with best practices from current and past research projects.

GUIDE should help to create legal certainty in applied research. Data subjects will be better protected during the processing of their personal data.

The results of GUIDE, including the created GUIDELines, can be found on our official project website .
