Dear business partners, dear friends of Fraunhofer IOSB,
in light of current developments, we would like to take this opportunity to inform you about the state of affairs at our institute. The most important thing first: Even under the changed framework conditions, the work on your and our projects continues and we are available for you by phone and on all digital communication channels.
Protection and precaution are a priority
For us at Fraunhofer IOSB, as well as for the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft as a whole, the well-being of our employees, but also the protection of our business partners, is extremely important. We take extensive measures to minimise risks and ensure that we deal with the situation in a responsible yet measured manner. We consistently implement the requirements of the authorities and the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft. In the event of infection or suspicion of infection, a detailed emergency plan is in place to protect those affected and prevent the chain of infection from continuing.
Work continues in a changed way
As of this week, it is no longer only those returning home from risk areas and colleagues otherwise exposed or at risk who are working at home - we have, as far as possible, shifted all activities to the home office. On-site at our locations, only a small part of the workforce is still active under increased precautionary measures to ensure the functioning of indispensable processes and infrastructures. Diverse digital tools allow us to communicate effectively, work closely together and drive projects forward. No different than usual, we pay meticulous attention to data protection and security.
Wide reduction of face-to-face meetings
At present, planned events unfortunately have to be cancelled or postponed. Business trips will be kept to an absolute minimum, meetings of more than five people are to be avoided until further notice. Instead of face-to-face meetings, we are making extensive use of telephone and video conferences, both internally and with our clients and cooperation partners.
As a rule, you can reach us as usual: every staff member has access to his or her e-mail box even from outside the Institute, and telephones are forwarded to the home office. The processing of letter mail is also ensured - but we would like to ask you to give preference to electronic communication whenever possible. However, if you have the impression that your attempt to contact us may not be successful, please do not hesitate to contact us directly! We will establish the contact for you.
The above reflects the current state of affairs. How the situation will develop further is hardly predictable - but we remain optimistic and can promise you two things: We will continue to do everything we can to maintain our ability to work and to process all projects and orders with our usual quality and reliability. And: We will continue to provide transparent and up-to-date information about the situation on this site. So if the situation changes, we will announce it here as soon as possible.
We send our warmest regards and wish you, your relatives and your staff all the best!
